Months of hard work culminated in the World Affairs Councils of America National Conference on February 7, 2008. The focus of the conference, which was attended by hundreds of World Affairs Councils members from across the nation, was “US or US and Them: US Foreign Policy and the next Presidency”; and as the name suggests, the discussion revolved around United States’ relations with the rest of the world at present and the path it may take in the future. Tuesday, February 5th, 2008The Foreign Policy Series Event, “Kosovo: A New East- West Crisis?” featured four distinguished speakers in a discussion on the inevitable possibility that Kosovo will declare independence from Serbia and what that will mean for the rest of the world. Michael Haltzel, Senior Fellow at the Center for Transatlantic Relations of John Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies, began the discussion with a brief history of the autonomous province within Serbia.
